Energized - Arts After Hours

I have to apologize to my faithful readers. I haven't been writing as much lately. No witty banter about Tuesday night Comedy Improv at City Hall. No immature statements about a local organization or person who I can't stand. No complaints about the local paper. As a matter of fact, I am loving the Item lately. I think Phelan's got writer's block or something because we haven't had a juicy ordinance to discuss in quite a while. Fortucci hearings are over and all is quiet.

So, why am I writing tonight. Well, I got home from my night out around Downtown Lynn and I rambled for about 10 minutes straight about everything that's going on to my wife. I barely breathed for a straight 5 minutes during my monologue. I realized something after I was done.  I'm finally doing what I love in the city that I love.  For so long, I've been directing theatre in places like Concord, Acton and even Sudbury. It's so good to be ramping up a show right next door in the Black Box at LynnArts. It's even more engaging to be producing a show like The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, where we can involve local celebs as guest spellers and show our community a high-quality, high production-value community theatre production of this Tony Award winning show. We are mostly cast and I can honestly say that this is going to blow you away!

If you haven't heard already, Arts After Hours next one-night event is Bourbon Street and it is this Saturday at 7PM @LynnArts on 25 Exchange Street. We are so incredibly excited and the response has been wild. I highly recommend you buy your tickets in advance on http://artsafterhours.com. This will surely sell out at some point during the evening.

I hope you're feeling as energized as I am. Sometimes when you are creating things, you get caught up in them and think they're great and no one is there with you. For some reason, I think a lot of you are right there with me. We're making it happen in the Arts & Cultural District of Downtown Lynn, our beloved Central Square.

As always, thanks for reading.  Hope to see you on Saturday night!

-Corey
