Let Election 2011 BEGIN!

July 5th was the day to get papers in to City Hall if you are planning to run for office this November. The races are for City Council and School Committee in 2011. If you haven't already heard about a few of the contenders in this year's races, you're probably not on Facebook or you don't hang out at The Lazy Dog or Turbine Wine Bar enough.

The Item got one report, VERY WRONG! Rick Starbard WILL BE SEEKING RE-ELECTION to Lynn's School Committee.

Looking forward to the Councilor at Large debates. Have some new blood looking to enter the fray. Take a strong look at all of these guys.  I hope all of the candidates have better answers about the potential of Downtown this go around. Phelan and Cahill were the only strong supporters of Downtown Lynn in the last debate.

We didn't elect Eugene last time and we were dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb people for allowing that to happen. Dumb. Is that clear? Like, stupid kind of dumb. Actually dumber than stupid dumb! It's because we didn't pay attention.

So here is our first chance to pay attention. The Councilor-at-Large forum will take place on July 13th at Temple Ahabat Sholom at 151 Ocean Street in the Diamond District of Lynn, MA . Once I find a time, I will let you all know. http://www.ahabatsholomlynn.org/

Listen carefully. We can't afford to lose another chance like Eugene.

I'm sure Lynnhappens.com will also post video of the debate. I will re-post when that happens.

  1. Thanks for plugging the East Lynn Community Association's forum on July 13th. It starts at 7PM. If anyone in your audience wants to submit a question, they can do so by emailing east.lynn.assn.@comcast.net. There's no guarantee that it will be used, but if we think it's a cut above the rest, we will.
