July 4th weekends are always pretty awesome in Downtown Lynn, but this one has been especially so. Great friends, great food, and great times. It all started on Saturday night with a bunch of us meeting up for dinner at Turbine. We all decided it would be a great idea to go support Tony Gallo and White Lighnin' over at The Sand Bar. It's a very short walk from Central Square and we've all been scared of the place for absolutely no reason.
The Sand Bar was great. I looked over to my wife a few times and said it felt like we were on vacation. They even have a newly installed outdoor patio making it an awesome place to be on a hot summer night. The beer is all reasonably priced and they have a full bar. As long as you're ok with beer in a plastic cup, you'll do fine here. My wife even sang with the band at one point and Walnut stopped by for a while and got on stage as well. It was very awesome and we had a blast. People of all ages on the dance floor. And I do mean ALL ages, like 21 to one 90 year old woman. It was incredible.
We followed up that crazy night with another night in one of the lofts on July 3rd. Again, I can't say enough about the neighbors down here. Love that we live here. It's a big part of why we're looking to stay here as we search for a larger place.
Can't wait for tomorrow night and the Fireworks display off Lynn Shore Drive. It's always a great show. Bring the whole family down to take it in. The fireworks will kick off Tuesday night at 9PM. After the fireworks stop by Turbine Wine Bar, I'm sure many of the Downtowners will go there after the show is over.
Looking forward to many more July 4th weekends. Hope everyone had a safe and memorable holiday.
