Downtown Happenings

Wanted to share an email from Mike Crounse about what's going on in the world of Downtown Lynn over the next few months.  Some of it's important, most of it is fun! Hope to see you out in Downtown this month! Even if you don't run the 5K, come to our Post Race Party in the Museum Park and enjoy one of the remaining nights of summer with AAH. As Mike says, we could use volunteers for almost all of this. If you want to help out with any of the AAH events, contact corey@artsafterhours.com.

Hi Folks,

I know some of you get the updates via Facebook or http://www.artsafterhours.com/ or http://lynnhappens.com/ but figured I'd send this out as well, there's a lot going on in the next few months, please spread the word!!
  1.  City Council meeting on Sept. 11th  to discuss "Nighthawk's Acquisitions" aka Mayo's plans to renovate their property on Broad Street  http://itemlive.com/articles/2012/08/29/news/news11.txt  This should be interesting to follow!!
  2. Friday Sept. 14th History of Hops Beer tasting at the Lynn Museum - Always a fun time!  https://www.facebook.com/events/492893927407349/
  3. That same night Go Out Loud is having and Out night at Cirque (aka 47 Central).  Kevin Sampson has joined forces with other Towns Out programs to form this great North Shore Out Team.  They recently had 80+ people for a dinner at The Ox.  Here is the event  https://www.facebook.com/events/353333321415934/
  4. Thursday September 20th is the Central Square 5K, "Clock to the Rock".  I as well as many other DTLers are running it this year.  There will also be an after party hosted by AAH in the Museum courtyard with food, drinks, music and prizes.  All the info is here https://www.facebook.com/events/473567132663216/  You don't have to run to go to the party and show your support!  Foreigner is playing that night at the Lynn Auditorium as well!
  5. AAH is putting on Evil Dead, the Musical at Lynn Arts from 10/18-10/28 and a Halloween Show on 10/31.  There will be an event in conjunction with the Lynn Arts Haunted House on Thursday Oct. 25th.  Also in the works is a Haunted House at High Rock Tower followed by a Zombie walk to Lynn Arts and party.  Tickets are already flying out the door for the show, especially the splatter zone seats http://www.artsafterhours.com/.  This could be huge for the downtown, don't be left out!!\

If interested in helping out with the race after party or with the events surrounding Evil Dead please let me know.  I think that covers it for now, please spread the word and hope to see you at some of these events. Change doesn't happen over night and we need everyone's support!!

Take Care,
Mike
