The Food Project Gardening Workshop and Plant Sale May 18th


Local Festival Celebrates Food and Farms

Free gardening workshops and plant sales help North Shore residents to ensure a strong start this growing season

WHAT:          
The Food Project, a youth development and local agriculture program, celebrates the start of another growing season at their Munroe Street Farm in Downtown Lynn.  Area youth will lead the festivities with how-to workshops and sales of vegetable plants.

WHO:            

The Food Project youth and staff will host local residents, neighbors, and community members.

Since 1991, The Food Project (TFP) has built a national model of engaging young people in personal and social change through sustainable agriculture. Their mission is to grow a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system. TFP produces healthy food for residents of the city and suburbs and provides youth leadership opportunities. Most importantly, TFP strives to inspire and support others to create change in their own communities.

WHEN:          Saturday May 18, 2013;  10am to 2pm

WHERE:        Munroe Street Farm, 100 Munroe Street, Lynn
